Chiefly Sarah Jeter Carter Barnett's genealogical research focusing on the Jennings family, which provided the basis for the Barnetts' claim to a portion of the Jennings estate; together with correspondence between Sarah Barnett and Samuel Barnett before their marriage, correspondence related to the litigation of the Jennings estate, and correspondence sent to Mrs. Barnett relating to her genealogical research. Includes Mrs. Barnett's composition book from her years at Wesleyan Female College, Macon, Ga., and last will and testament (1807) of Oliver Jeter. Other families represented include Carter, Jeter, MacDonald, Randle, Spratt, and Stone.
